The Island Storytelling Festival: New Waves

Islanders love their stories: Wyatt Heritage Properties Inc.’s Storytelling Festival will happen in two parts: An evening of oral storytelling on Thursday, September 25th, and Radio Dramas on Sunday, October 5th. Both events will happen at Eptek Art and Culture Centre. Performers and times to be announced.

Minor Hockey Registration Updated Schedule

Summerside Minor Hockey Association has revised their annual registration dates for the 2014-15 season. Registration will now take place in the lobby of Credit Union Place on Saturday, Sept. 27th and Saturday, October 4th from 9am-1pm. The previously announced date of September 20th has been cancelled.

What is it? Every year City of Summerside staff go to each fire hydrant in the community and open them for several minutes to allow a large amount of water to flow out.  This is an important part of keeping our water system in good condition as it removes mineral deposits from our piping system and also gives staff the chance to test the operation of each fire hydrant to see if any repair work is needed.  Water main flushing is a normal… read more
