Official Plan

In 1998, the City of Summerside developed an Official Plan, "a critical building block in the City's strategic planning approach to management."
With a strategic vision and long-term development goals, the plan establishes the framework for specific policies that shape a variety of general issues, including economic development and growth management.

In 2006 the City, through an extensive review process, completed an update to the Official Plan.

The Plan entitled The City of Summerside Official Plan 1998 (Rev.2006) was given Ministerial approval in July of 2006.
