Concert Tickets Now on Sale
The Blind Boys of Alabama, are performing on Saturday, July 5th at 7:00 pm. The original Blind Boys of Alabama group was formed in 1939 at a school for blind children in Alabama. Over the years, they have sung a mixture of traditional and contemporary Gospel music. Much has changed since forming the group; the band has welcomed new members, singer Jimmy Carter being the only original member, their audience, which was once segregated and confined to Gospel venues is widely embraced by fans around the world and they have recorded several renditions of mainstream music. Their release Down in New Orleans, was recorded with musicians from New Orleans to spread a message of hope and inspiration for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Blind Boys of Alabama have spent nearly seventy years singing messages of hope, faith and inspiration and put on a performance that all ages enjoy.
Tickets are also on sale for: Stuntapalooza Arena Cross event which takes place on Saturday, July 12th; Canadian rock legends Loverboy perform on August 6th at 7:00pm, Kenny Rogers “Live in Concert” which takes place on August 12th at 8 pm and NHL pre-season hockey game between New York Islanders and Florida Panthers slated for September 27, 2008 at 7:00pm.

Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre
Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart are performing at The Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre on July 11, 2008. Show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $18.00
Bruce Rainnie and Kendra MacGillivray will be on stage at the Jubilee on July 12 at 8:00pm. Ticket are $20.00

Wyatt Heritage Properties
Concerts in the Garden will return for the eighth summer. Anyone who enjoys the Island music scene is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and be part of the audience. Admission is by donation. Wyatt’s delicious homemade ice cream is offered for sale during intermission. Concerts begin at 6:30pm
Wyatt Heritage Properties is offering seven unique summer programs geared to youth. Pirates and Treasure, One Potato, Two, Bread and Butter, In the Attic, Metal Work, Candle Making and Papermaking. Other Activities and Events
Join us at the SHIPYARD on Canada Day. The Lobster House Restaurant and Oyster Bar will feature a special BBQ menu all day. Pig Tails & Ice Cream will be open from Noon-10pm in the Train Station next to the main building. Staring at 12 noon, join the KID ZONE. Inflatable Twister, Bunny Trails Pet Ranch (3:30-5:30pm), Giant Coloring Area, Buskers and more. Get your friends together for “The Lazy Jacks”! 9pm – Midnight. Fireworks display at 10pm.
Cross Currents: 500 Generations of Aboriginal Fishing in Atlantic Canada is at the Eptek Art and Culture Centre all summer. The exhibition is produced by the Canadian Museum of Civilization which features over 130 artifacts, replicas, models, maps, video and other multimedia components. Open 9 – 5 daily, 12 – 5 Sundays. Credit Union Place will be organizing and hosting this year’s Celebrity Dinner on July 6th as part of Lobster Carnival. Baseball Hall of Fame Member Fergie Jenkins will be headline speaker. A reception will begin at 6pm with dinner at 7pm. Tickets are available from the Credit Union Place Box Office from 12 noon – 8pm, seven days a week and by calling 432-1234. Several local and off Island celebrities will soon be announced.

College of Piping Event in the Tent will be held June 27th – 29th. Highland Storm begins July 8th. For more information, phone the College at 902-436-5377
Islanders will be able to see a special piece of history that is recognized as a symbol of freedom and liberation in Scotland, as the Wallace Sword will be traveling across the Atlantic and arriving in Summerside for the College of Piping and Performing Arts Highland Gathering on June 28th from 12 noon – 4pm. The National Treasure will also be on display for viewing at the Wyatt Heritage Properties Lefurgey Cultural Centre on June 27th from 10am – 5pm.
A Wine and Arts Festival will be hosted in Summerside July 10 – 12th. This first time event will feature wine tasting of over 100 wines from around the world, art exhibits and demonstrations, wine bards, live entertainment and much more. Event packages are available. On September 10th the TALL SHIPS will arrive in Summerside to race for the first time around PEI. On September 11th at 12 noon the cannon will fire and 7 ships will begin the race. The race will take between 36-70 hours traveling 360 nautical miles around our Island. TallShipsPEI.com

Summer Camp will be held on a weekly basis from July 21 – August 15th. Each week has a fun and exciting theme. Food and Beverage services are available. Phone the Credit Union Place for more information 432-1234.
Red Cross Summer Day Camp from August 4th – 15th. The 10 day camp includes boating and JOC (junior outdoor camp). Busing provided at designated areas.
